Eastern Screech Owl – Pt. 2

Yesterday, I took Arlene to show off the beautiful rufous morph (red) screech owl that Kas and I first saw last week. On our first pass of the perch, he wasn’t there, but some other walkers mentioned that the grey morph of the screech owl could be found about a half mile down the path….so we went off on another adventure. We indeed discovered the grey morph owl, tucked into the open end of a tree, sleeping soundly.

After several (ok….many, many) photos, we re-traced our steps and found that the ruphous morh (red) owl was sunning itself nicely. A few more photos, and our day was complete!
